Attack on Titan Season 1 Episode 23 Overview
Annie is getting ready to join her Military Police in Stohess District on eastern Wall Sina for a mission to accompany Eren to the capital when Armin pulls her aside and requests for help smuggling Eren away to safety. Eren, Armin, and Mikasa escort Annie to an underground passage after she reluctantly agrees.
The Scouts below discover that Annie is the Female Titan when Annie declines to accompany them. In order to avoid being captured, Annie changes in the midst of the city.
Attack on Titan Season 1 Episode 23 Summary
Before waking up in her room, Annie experiences a dream in which her father is training her. After the Scout Regiment convoy enters the city, the Military Police are instructed to accompany it in the Stohess District of Wall Sina. The cadets were given no work by their supervisors. One of Annie’s coworkers, Hitch, admits that she joined the police because she believed the Military Police to be crooked and lethargic. Marlo, a different coworker, is disgusted and says he joined the police to improve it, which Annie appreciates since he makes her think of Eren.
They observe their commanding officials selling Military Police gear to the underworld as they start to march out. Marlo attempts to halt them. They offer him a coin because they believe he wants in and is attempting to blackmail them. He persists and threatens to expose them, but ultimately fails and is beaten. Hitch and Annie save him by pointing out the gathering mob. They release their commanding officers and proceed to Stohess.
Armin quietly calls Annie in the alleys when the caravan enters Stohess. Armin requests her assistance while he assists Eren in escaping the capital, since the person travelling in the convoy is actually Jean in disguise. She first refuses, citing the plan’s flaws, but after Armin begs again, thinking she is a nice person, she ultimately accepts, but puts on a ring before joining him.
Annie, Mikasa, Eren, and Armin set out to flee the capital. They soon arrive to an underground passage, which Armin leads the way inside. Annie, on the other hand, refuses to enter. Eren and Armin try to persuade Annie to accompany them, but Annie becomes suspicious when she reports that there are no citizens around, and she catches Armin acting suspiciously and staring at her strangely while nearby concealed Scout Regiment soldiers dressed as civilians keep an eye on them.
Armin ultimately admits that he suspects Annie is the Female Titan since the omni-directional mobility gear she gave to check for illegal use after Sawney and Beane were slain was Marco’s. She manages to use the sword concealed in her ring to change into a Titan despite the Scouts’ best efforts to stop her, revealing her real identity and eliminating the men who were holding her back.
Eren and Armin were taken underground by Mikasa in order to safeguard them from the metamorphosis blast since she was quick enough to recognise her plan. A tower of light and dust rises in the city, and the entire district watches it.
